Based in Adelaide, Veos brings a free mobile footwear fitting service to nursing homes, retirement villages and independent living communities Australia wide. Every fitting is conducted by a qualified podiatrist, who measures and fits each resident properly, helps them find shoes, slides and socks for older feet that feel comfortable and safe to walk in every day, and is on hand to answer any foot health questions residents, families or staff might have.
Many older people are wearing footwear that no longer fits, has worn out, or was never right for their feet in the first place. Getting to a shoe store is not always easy for residents, so we bring the fitting to them. A proper fitting in a familiar setting takes the stress out of it for residents, families and staff.

How Our Aged Care Footwear Fitting Pop-Ups Work
-
We set up in a common area: A lounge, activity room or dining space works well. We bring everything we need, including stock in every size and width.
-
A podiatrist measures and fits each resident one by one: We check length, width and any swelling, bunions or sensitive areas, then try on options until the fit feels right.
-
Residents can ask the podiatrist anything: From sore feet and swelling to which shoe suits their walking, residents and staff can raise any foot questions during the visit.
-
Residents try before they buy: There is no obligation to purchase. Anyone who wants to take a pair home can pay on the day, have it invoiced to their next of kin, or have it paid through their Home Care Package, NDIS or DVA funding.
-
Staff get simple guidance: We leave notes on each resident's fit so care staff and families know what to look for next time.
Footwear We Fit for Older Adults
-
Veos Neos All-Comfort Shoe: Our main fitting shoe. A closed-heel, accommodating shoe with extra room for swelling, bunions and wider feet. Other shoe styles may also be available on the day, depending on stock.
-
Grip Slides: Slip-resistant slides for showers, bathrooms and other wet areas.
-
EasyFit Socks: Diabetic, compression and grip socks with soft, non-binding tops. Grip socks may help reduce fall risk on smooth floors.
-
Cloudthotic Innersoles: Cushioned arch support that can be added to existing shoes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who conducts the fittings?
Every fitting is conducted by a qualified podiatrist. They measure and fit each resident, and are happy to answer any questions residents, families or staff have about foot health and footwear.
Is there a cost for the facility?
No. The fitting visit is free for nursing homes, retirement villages and independent living communities. Residents only pay for footwear they choose to keep.
How long does a fitting day take?
Usually just a couple of hours. Depending on how many residents would like a fitting, it can be a short two hour visit. We work around your activity calendar and meal times.
Can residents with swollen feet, bunions or diabetes be fitted?
Yes. Our range is podiatrist designed with extra depth, width and soft, non-binding materials for feet that are hard to fit in standard shoes. We recommend residents with specific foot conditions also follow advice from their own health professional.
Which areas do you visit?
We are based in Adelaide and visit facilities Australia wide, so get in touch wherever you are.
How do residents pay for their footwear?
Residents can pay on the day, or we can send an invoice to their next of kin. Footwear can also be paid for through a Home Care Package, NDIS or DVA funding.
